My question
Tremolo block touching cavity - Is it safe to remove some wood?
What I have tried
I installed a Wilkinson WOLD1 Floyd Rose on my Memphis MG-130. At the bridge’s resting position, the tremolo block is touching the wood inside the rear cavity (see photo). I know the block should move freely. Is it safe to remove a small amount of wood from the cavity to provide clearance, as long as I don’t affect the pivot posts or their mounting area? If so, what’s the best tool to use and how much clearance is recommended?
